Guitar Lessons

I offer classical guitar lessons from a purpose built studio at my home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. I can also provide lessons via Zoom, please contact me to discuss further details.

Approach

My teaching focus is on developing proper technique in order to express musical and emotional content.  I believe that the student-teacher relationship is crucial to developing as a musician.

My lessons are fun and engaging. I am always encouraging and patient whilst still challenging students to help them progress. I am sensitive to the different personalities, ages, learning styles and aims of my students and adjust my teaching accordingly.

I believe anyone can benefit from a musical education and should have the opportunity to do so regardless of age, background, learning or playing ability. So whether you are an adult beginner or have a child studying for a grade, whether you just want to play for your own pleasure or would like to perform in front of others, please get in touch, I'm sure I can help you on your musical journey.

Booking

  • Lessons are booked in half term blocks in line with school terms, this is usually 6 weeks.
  • Note that some half terms may contain more or less weeks and the fee will be adjusted accordingly but I aim to teach for 38 weeks throughout the year so it averages out in the end!
  • All terms include a 1 week break for half term. There are usually 2 weeks break at Christmas, 2 weeks break at Easter and 7 weeks break for the summer.
  • I offer an initial trial lesson for a one-off fee, if after this you are not completely satisfied there is no obligation to book any further lessons
  • Lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long, we will agree a regular time slot for your lesson that will be the same each week
  • One-off lessons are available during term time, half term and end-of-term breaks depending on availability
  • Before lessons can begin we will jointly sign a contract which formalises the details described here
